Alex Community Education & Training (a division of Alexandra Headland Surf Life Saving Club) has created a Health and Physical Education Program for school students, which focuses on Surf Awareness and First Aid including CPR. Throughout the program students are given opportunities to explore and participate in physical activities that develop and enhance health-related fitness. Students learn ways to respond to an emergency situation by assessing their options and consequences. Each student will be provided with a Certificate of Participation listing the topics explored.
Core Learning Outcomes
This program has been designed to cater for students working towards level four outcomes of the Queensland “Health and Physical Education Syllabus” (2004). One outcome from each of the three strands has been selected and incorporated into the program.
The program can be adjusted to suit students working towards other levels.

Students propose ways of responding to situations and behaviours that are unsafe, harmful or risky, after assessing options and consequences.
Students will be given the opportunity to:
Developing concepts and skills for physical activity
Students identify and take part in a variety of physical activities that contribute to the development of particular components of health related fitness.
